What to do

Caminha
Caminha, a special place for Manuela and her family, is a charming historical village in northern Portugal by the Minho River. Our top recommendations would be to explore the main square, stroll along the ancient walls, walk by the river and through the Camarido Forest, and enjoy the beaches of Foz do Minho and Moledo to relax and admire the sunset.
Be sure to try the local cuisine, especially the Caminhense from the Petinga Doce bakery, a traditional sponge cake filled with a special cream, the ribs at Chafariz restaurant, the codfish at Adega do Chico, and the regional dishes at Remo restaurant.
Porto
Douro
Porto, the largest city in northern Portugal, is full of history and character. Set along the Douro River, it’s known for its beautiful riverside scenery. Wander through the cobblestone streets of Ribeira, visit Porto Cathedral and São Bento Station, cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, and enjoy a port wine tasting at one of the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Enjoy some of the region’s traditional flavours, such as francesinha and Zé do Pipo-style codfish, and of course, the famous pastel de nata from Manteigaria.
